Joining a video call
Every conversation has its own video call, which anyone in the conversation can enter at any time. It runs in your browser, with nothing to install.
Three ways in
Enter Call at the top of a conversation. On a phone it is the camera button.
Join call on the card of a booked session, on your home page or under Schedule. It takes you to the call in your conversation with that person, and it is there from the moment the booking is confirmed until an hour after the session ends.
If you offer services: + in Messages, then Start Video Call. This creates a new group named after you and opens its call, ready for you to invite people.
Before you go in
You first see Join Call, with a preview of your camera. Your browser asks to use your camera and microphone: allow both.
The two round buttons at the bottom of the preview turn your microphone and camera off before you go in.
If you have more than one camera or microphone, choose one from the lists.
Press Enter Now.
Nobody's phone rings
Entering a call does not ring the others. A line such as Ana Novak entered the call appears in the conversation instead. For a booked session, both of you join at the agreed time. Otherwise, send a message first so the other person knows to come in.
If you are the first one into a call between two people, or into a call you have just started, you see Waiting for others to join... until someone arrives. In a larger group you see your own picture until the others come in.
Who can come in
Everyone in the conversation. If it is still a message request, it has to be accepted first. Anyone else who has the link can ask to be let in, as the article on inviting people to a call explains.
Leaving
Press Hang up. The call carries on for everyone else, and ends when the last person leaves.
Past calls
Call History at the top of a conversation (on a phone, under More) lists its recent calls, with when each one took place and how long it lasted. Calls are not recorded. Messages and files sent during a call stay in the conversation.
